Creating Logic Models & Theories of Change

This workshop walks you through the process of creating a program logic model that illustrates your programs unique approach, outlines its activities, defines its short and long term outcomes, and begins to help you and your staff unearth assumptions that can be tested during your evaluation.  Logic models are also a great snapshot of your program that can be shared with other stakeholders (e.g., foundations, donors, board members, etc).  In addition, the process of creating a logic model can be a terrific internal communication tool, supporting your stakeholders to develop and use common language about your organizations activities and outcomes.

Product: By the end of this non profit evaluation course workshop, each participating organization will have created a program logic model.

Recommendation: We recommend that you try to engage a wide-range of stakeholders in the entire Evaluation Access training process or in the homework activities.

Specifics: This workshop includes 5 two-hour real-time classroom sessions, 3 hours of one-to-one online consultation with Evaluation Access GEACs and unlimited access to peer support.

Date:  Begins October 8, 2010
Cost: Nonprofits and foundations $1,500 for up to three participants per organization, $750 for individuals

Designing Your Own Survey

This workshop will walk you through all the steps necessary to create a quality survey.  You will learn how to develop meaningful survey questions and response categories, how to pilot your surveys, and the pros and cons of pre/post designs and online surveys.

Recommendations: Organizations participating in this non profit evaluation course workshop will need to have completed a program logic model prior to their participation.  This will ensure that the surveys developed during this workshop will effectively measure the interventions and outcomes most relevant to the program or organization.
