Professional Evaluation Learning Community

Professional Evaluation Learning Communities provide training and a non profit evaluation network for internal evaluators who are already working within nonprofit organizations. These learning communities provide specific support for internal evaluators through skill-development workshops, facilitated conversations, and peer to peer learning. Online learning communities are an opportunity for internal evaluators to join a non profit evaluation network. Joining increases the quality of their work, members become connected to others in the field, and it strengthens the work of the field. Specific skill building workshops will focus on the following topics.
  • The Myths and Possibilities of Evaluation
  • How to create logic models and theories of change that drive evaluations
  • How to create a realistic and sound evaluation design
  • Developing evaluation questions that address participant outcomes, as well as the quality, effectiveness, and consistency of the program model
  • The various strategies of data collection (interviews, focus groups, surveys, etc.)
  • How to select the most appropriate data collection methods to address your evaluation questions
  • Qualitative and Quantitative data analysis
  • Evaluation report writing

Learning Communities, a non profit evaluation network, meet over a 15 month period and include five real-time classroom sessions, ten virtual classroom sessions, ongoing feedback on evaluation products, two days of consultation per organization, and unlimited peer support. By the end of the 15 months, participants will have completed at least one full program evaluation and be linked to a sustained group of colleagues whose expertise they can continue to call on.
